Cloud computing 'provides better security'Businesses could be made more secure by embracing cloud computing, one IT expert has argued.Martino Corbelli, marketing director at Star, said cloud computing providers should be looking to provide firms with better security than they could afford themselves and this is one of the main reasons that businesses should look to outsource data storage. He commented: "If you ask the CXO about whether putting their data in a data centre is more secure or not, most of them said 'I know it is, I just need to convince my people in IT'." He added firms could save overall by investing in outsourced data management. According to a recent report by the European Network and Information Security Agency, the number one issue holding many people back from adopting cloud computing is whether it is safe for them to trust a cloud provider with their data or even their entire business infrastructure. ![]() |
