Imagination 'critical to disaster recovery'
Firms must be imaginative when attempting to tackle business continuity and disaster recovery issues, it has been claimed.
CTO Edge reported companies should let their imaginations to run wild during the preparation of disaster recovery planning, as this enables them to think of all kinds of eventualities that could arise during a real crisis.
Following this, businesses should look to create step-by-step guidelines as to how to deal with these scenarios, starting with the most high-impact events.
Elsewhere, a report by Symantec recently revealed small to medium-sized businesses are more vulnerable to having a disaster and therefore need to have in place well thought-out plans to meet any eventuality.
"While no one wants a disaster to occur, the reality is that they happen and rather than continuing to be unprepared, companies need to take simple proactive steps to protect their information," commented Ajay Verma, director for channels and alliances at Symantec India.
