Companies to focus on collaborative techBusinesses have been advised that collaboration technologies are likely to see a major boom in demand next year.Silicon.com reported products like Microsoft Sharepoint and Hosted Exchange are likely to be popular among businesses looking to streamline their data efficiency and performance. In addition, chief financial officers (CFOs) are set to become more involved in IT infrastructure decision making. Forrester vice-president of enterprise applications Paul Hamerman commented: "We see the CFO becoming more involved ... in terms of how the systems are configured, how they're managed, although IT still plays an important role in the data integration and support." Elsewhere, a new report by Imperva forecast there will likely be a growth in the threat from social networking to firms over the coming decade, as cyber criminals look to prey on the weakest part of a business' IT security - the staff themselves. In addition, it noted the industrialisation of hacking is likely to taker place, with data theft a growing business for criminals. ![]() |
