Data security 'should always come first'Businesses should remain aware that the data they handle should always be their top priority when it comes to security, it has been stated.Tony Lock, programme director at Freeform Dynamics, said this year will see data security measures playing a more prominent role in IT infrastructure as the UK looks to come out of recession and the amount of information being handled by businesses increases. He noted: "Demand is likely to grow for some form of managed services to help keep sophisticated data protection systems operational, especially in organisations where skills are limited." Elsewhere, Tom Royal, deputy editor at Computeractive, recently noted that security updates for Windows 7 systems will be integral for firms which use the operating system. He noted the recent launch of the software by Microsoft will be supplemented by regular data security updates and firms should always be on the lookout to bring their IT infrastructure as up to date as possible at all times. ![]() |
