Slate computers 'could boost data management'The launch of a new slate computer in a partnership between Microsoft and HP could help improve data management efficiency for employees.Richard Sharp, gadget blogger and owner of gadgetsandgizmos.org, said the system is the "missing link" between laptops and PCs and makes working outside the office environment easier. He commented: "I think people were expecting a new operating system for a new device. That said, I think the slate is good looking piece of kit and one that a giant like HP will have great success with." Mr Sharp added the new slate system is not only functional and ergonomic, but also sleek and reliable, as it uses the new Windows 7 operating system. The product was launched at the recent Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas, where the two companies showcased their new product. Microsoft boss Steve Ballmer noted it is perfect for reading, working, surfing the web or watching entertainment while on the go. ![]() |
