Cold weather 'will not hinder cloud users'The onset of a freezing cold snap in the UK has done little to hinder the productivity of cloud computing users, it has been claimed.Rob Lovell, chief executive officer at ThinkGrid, said while many firms have been forced to close their offices as staff have been stuck in their own homes, businesses that have embraced cloud computing have been able to remain active as the technology allows users to log in from multiple locations. He commented: "Where ... cloud computing comes in is giving people the disaster recovery and business continuity as part of the overall solution." According to a recent report by Easynet Connect, 2010 is set to be the "year of the cloud" for UK small to medium-sized enterprises, following a huge change in outlook over the past 15 months. It noted, however, that many are still failing to implement formal strategies to help safeguard their businesses. ![]() |
