Small firms 'to opt for SaaS'Businesses that do not have large IT budgets could this year be set to embrace Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), it has been claimed.Stacy Goff, president of ProjectExperts, said SaaS can help companies overcome cost issues, as it involves the leasing of software from a third party, meaning businesses to not have initial setup costs and only have to pay for services that they actually require. "On the management side, organisations are slowly but surely turning to a project-oriented approach to trim costs and add value," she commented. Ms Goff added this type of network solution is likely to prove "in vogue" this year, as it couples innovation with cost savings. Elsewhere, Search Storage recently reported small businesses are likely to view cloud data storage methods as an integral part of IT infrastructure in 2010. The resource noted the technology is web-based and therefore provides expansive capacity and the ability to access files from multiple locations. ![]() |
