Companies 'could reduce costs through recovery readiness'Businesses across the UK could reduce the amount they spend on data management by improving their disaster recovery readiness, it has been noted.IT Voir reported improving the flexibility of data recovery systems could give a boost to productivity for firms and reduce the amount of downtime they suffer each year. The website stated: "Many companies accept that they have loopholes in their data recovery plans. The reason behind this could be cost factor. It requires huge capital and operational expenditures for duplicating critical business data." In addition, the online publication stated companies could avoid costly hits to reputation through data loss incidents. Elsewhere, Tech Republic recently reported businesses could improve productivity by up to 80 per cent by profiling data use, identifying information owners and frequently revoking permissions. The website asserted the likelihood that a serious security breach or data loss incident will occur is greatly reduced if these measures are taken. ![]() |
