Firms advised to encrypt critical filesBusinesses have been advised to embrace data encryption in order to boost security.Tech News World reported companies have in the past moved towards automated data security systems and this is all well and good, as it reduces the impact of human error. However, it is important that encryption methods are regularly updated or firms face the possibility of hackers gaining access to their networks and nobody realising it. "The great news for consumers is that data encryption software solutions are available to address these important security concerns by enabling the user to lock down sensitive information in secured folders," the publication noted. Elsewhere, Amichai Shulman, chief technology officer of Imperva, recently said a phishing attack on Google could have resulted in the data security of up to 20 companies being put in jeopardy last month. Therefore, the firm noted it will be reviewing its policies for data security in the months ahead. ![]() |
