CDP 'an affordable data protection solution'Continuous data protection (CDP) does not have to be as expensive to install as many believe, it has been noted.Eweek reported companies should attempt to boost their disaster recovery readiness by investing in CDP, as the technology can boost productivity and enable firms to recover more quickly from a crisis, while facing the prospect of losing less data to boot. The publication noted: "As data volumes have grown and dependence on data availability and fast recovery has increased, the limitations of tape media have become all too apparent." Elsewhere, Server Watch recently reported businesses across the UK could boost their data security and efficiency by embracing data deduplication technology - while also boosting archiving, backup and all-round data management performance. Firms could reduce the amount of data being stored in their servers, thereby making it easier to recover any lost data and to ensure security measures are kept in place, the publication claimed. ![]() |
