Businesses urged to focus on recoverySmall to medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the UK could be set to benefit from an economic recovery that sees their data management efficiencies tested.Head of marketing at Eclipse Internet Simon Harper said the best thing for businesses to focus on right now is what they are best at and that is running their own business. SMEs should be aware, however, that an upturn in the economy could well see additional stress placed on their IT infrastructure as the number of orders they receive grows. He commented: "I think there is so much external pressure and administrative and regulatory pressures on them that it is hard for them to focus on what they are meant to be doing." According to research by Eclipse Internet, 65 per cent of firms said the chancellor should have extended the reduction in VAT further in order to boost British business. Furthermore, more than half (54 per cent) said the planned increase in national insurance contributions would be detrimental to their business. ![]() |
