Cyber crime 'a growing problem for firms'More companies are being targeted by cyber criminals, it has been stated.Info World reported businesses across the UK need to train their staff to be more effective at data security when online and in their day-to-day lives. Research carried out 7Safe and the University of Bedfordshire showed the number of security breaches in the UK is increasing as cyber criminals are making a concerted effort to target firms. A representative for 7Safe noted: "Many security breaches occur because the companies don't have thorough security auditing in place and there are many inherent limitations of automated vulnerability assessment tools." Elsewhere, Sarah Blaney, card fraud expert at CPP, recently said more than a quarter (26 per cent) of adults claim to have been a victim of fraud at some point and there have been three million new victims of fraud in the last two years, with many incidents the result of phishing attacks or poor data security. ![]() |
