US planning data security simulationThe US government is planning to attack its own IT infrastructure in order to assess any weaknesses and to prepare staff for what might happen in a real crisis, it has been claimed.Neil Campbell, the global managing director for security at Dimension Data, said if the US government did not carry out such practices then in the event of a real attack, a greater degree of time and money could be lost as people do not know what to do. He commented: "When you extrapolate that to the scale of the US government or any government, the potential for damage is massive." According to recent reports, online blogging site Twitter was recently hijacked by hackers. For a brief time, users found the Twitter page had lost its homepage and instead had a green flag on a black background. The website displayed the message: This website has been hacked by the Iranian Cyber Army. ![]() |
