Cloud 'requires greater provisioning'Improved provisioning is required to make cloud technology a more attractive prospect to businesses, it has been claimed.Adrian Bridgwater noted in a blog for ZDNet that there remain a proportion of companies that are nonplussed at the prospect of cloud infrastructure uptake and the only way to convince these doubters that the system is secure and reliable is to provide greater provisioning. He wrote: "Do we need more tools to help manage the flexible foundation, test and delivery layers of the apps and virtual appliances that must migrate to the cloud? Seems like a reasonable idea." Elsewhere, a third of respondents to the annual State of Enterprise Security Survey from Global Data claimed cloud computing can make setting up data security provisions more difficult. In addition, the report showed the median annual budget for data security at firms is set to rise by 11 per cent in 2010 to $600,000 (£387,000). ![]() |
