Companies must be aware of virtualisation "quirks"
Businesses should be aware of the "quirks" of virtualisation and cloud computing systems before embracing these forms of IT infrastructure, it has been claimed.
AsiaOne Business reported many companies have made the switch to these forms of data management in recent months and are only now understanding the scale of the task that confronts them in implementing these technologies.
However, it is important to remember the many benefits these systems can provide, including increased data management efficiency, greater data access, cost savings and productivity benefits for staff.
Edwinder Singh, practice head of professional services and data centre solutions at Datacraft Asia, commented: "Businesses have been able to tide through the tough times with their current infrastructure, but it is now the time to look at the refreshment cycles for ageing products."
Elsewhere, Lori MacVittie recently wrote in a post for ZD Net that companies across the UK can rest assured that cloud computing and virtualisation systems can work hand in hand in a firm's IT infrastructure.
