Businesses 'to address cloud security'
Companies need reassurance that data security will not be an issue when embracing cloud IT infrastructure.
CBR Online reported Harriet Pearson, vice-president for security counsel and chief privacy officer at IBM, said 80 per cent of businesses that would consider using the cloud feel data security is their number one concern.
However, the fact so many companies are considering its use means these issues will no doubt be overcome in the near future.
She commented: "To us, cloud computing is the next maturation of a computing model we've been doing for years."
Elsewhere, IT News Online recently reported research carried out by NetApp has revealed more IT professionals claim they understand cloud computing.
The study showed 74 per cent of respondents now feel they have a grasp of the technology, with 22 per cent finding the cost saving elements of the cloud most appealing and 23 per cent saying it is its pay-as-you-go model.
