Staff training 'key to data security'Improving staff training is key to businesses boosting their data security, it has been claimed.Luis Corrons, technical director for Panda Security, said ensuring workers are aware of the implications of poor data security are paramount, as well as making sure they understand how to securely send and receive files and do not advertise their security details in inappropriate pages - such as through social networking sites. He commented: "The main thing is education and training of the users. I know this sounds strange - many people say, 'I'm running a business, I don't want to train my users on how to do certain things'. But in the end it's worth the effort." According to Panda Security, the Mariposa botnet recently infected 13 million computers in 190 countries and 31,901 cities. The most infected country was India (19.14 per cent of all infections), followed by Mexico (12.85 per cent) and Brazil (7.74 per cent). ![]() |
