Cloud 'could bring UC'Cloud computing could be the final push many companies need to switch to unified communications (UC), it has been claimed.Speaking at the UC Expo, Jon Neville, general manager at EVUA, said companies are presently looking to reduce IT costs and the fact UC works in tandem with the cloud could make it increasingly attractive for businesses. He commented: "The next step is going to cloud computing. [It] actually almost gets them around implementing UC solutions because they get everything off the cloud. According to holistic email management company Mimecast, 62 per cent of the 565 IT decision makers in the USA and Canada that were surveyed by the firm have considered or are considering cloud computing as part of their IT infrastructure. Furthermore, research from the company showed the top three industries presently adopting cloud computing solutions are technology (with 53 per cent), financial services (40 per cent) and legal (37 per cent). ![]() |
