Mobile apps 'help employees communicate'Companies and their employees could communicate better through the use of mobile apps, it has been claimed.Speaking at the UC Expo, Nic Newman, head of strategy and Europe, the Middle East, and Africa operations at TigerSpike, said businesses should take advantage of the development of roving communication tools that allow workers to communicate ideas easily through apps on smartphones. He commented: "[Mobile apps] let us communicate comfortably what we feel about the organisation and it gets dealt with in a way we know that people will pay attention to." Mr Newman highlighted how mobile apps could let workers send ideas from their mobiles to update automatically on their company's intranet and vice versa. According to research2guidance, the trend for advanced communications using mobile devices is set to gain strength over the coming years, with global smartphone users predicted to number 970 million by the end of 2013. ![]() |
