Cloud computing 'speeding up product development'Cloud computing technology has helped developers improve productivity and boost data security, it has been claimed.MC Solutions reported attendees at the recent SolidWorks World event in Anaheim, California, recently heard how the cloud can help boost data availability across all areas of a business and enable workers in different fields to access files more easily. At the same time, the real-time nature of the model enables data loss to be less frequent as updated backups are created continuously. "We are not going to get rid of crashes, but clouds will help recovery because the database is not updated just once in a while but continually - like an online business application," commented Jon Hirschtick, founder of SolidWorks. Elsewhere, Rob Lovell, chief executive officer at ThinkGrid, recently said more IT professionals are understanding the basics of cloud computing due to its growing popularity and the number of firms that are embracing the technology. ![]() |
