IT employment 'to increase'The number of IT professional roles for businesses is set to increase in the months ahead, it has been claimed.Matt Munson, group technical director for BlueSquare Data, said as the economic recovery gets underway, companies will be looking to take on more staff to ensure their IT infrastructure continues to run smoothly as demand for their services picks up. He commented: "It's a 50/50 split between software and hardware - can you add more RAM to this server, can you log onto this Linux box and check why it's not communicating?" According to a recent report by the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, employers are expected to increase their IT recruitment significantly as the economy picks up. However, it showed there were fewer IT professionals in the UK at the end of 2009 at 1,041,000 - a four per cent drop year-on-year - when compared to the end of 2008. ![]() |
