Cloud computing white paper releasedA white paper has been released to discuss the impact of cloud computing on businesses across the UK.Silicon Republic reported the publication entitled Cloud Business was created in response to research carried out by the Irish Internet Association which showed that 54 per cent of IT professionals do not have a clear understanding of what cloud computing actually entails. It also outlines the challenges companies can face in the set-up and operational phases of the cloud, while at the same time dealing with the benefits and major selling points of the technology. Elsewhere, Simon Heron, internet security analyst at Network Box, recently said the ongoing push to cloud computing could see many firms falling foul of the Information Commissioner's Office in the months ahead. He noted the fact firms could now fall foul of fines up to £500,000 should ensure data security will become the hot topic of 2010. ![]() |
