Companies 'to embrace IT outsourcing'Businesses across the UK look set to embrace IT outsourcing as the country looks to get back on to an economic even keel, it has been claimed.Patrick O'Brien, senior analyst at Ovum, said the outsourcing of some elements of IT infrastructure can help smaller firms focus their efforts on recovery after the recession, rather than worrying about administrative issues within their organisation. Furthermore, businesses could reduce costs and improve their bottom lines by reducing their in-house IT responsibilities. He commented: "There's a little bit more confidence and a little bit more visibility with businesses. That enables them to have a bit more confidence in making strategic decisions around outsourcing." According to the International Association of Outsourcing Professionals, companies are predicted to increasingly make use of advanced management practices, tools and technologies - such as object-relational mapping and cloud computing - to provide improved value and operational flexibility and performance. ![]() |
