Virtualisation 'provides security edge'Companies could add an edge to their data security provisions by embracing virtualisation technology, it has been claimed.H-Online reported that isolating individual attacks on servers in separate virtual machines can help IT professionals ensure their IT infrastructure remains secure at all times. The publication therefore claimed that virtual network infrastructure could be the key to future improvements in data security. "We will not be able to patch all the bugs in the software we use or detect all the malicious software. Consequently, we need a different approach to build secure systems," commented security expert Joanna "Bluepill" Rutkowska. Elsewhere, Owen Cole, UK & Ireland technical director for F5 Networks, recently stated in a blog post for Security Park that cloud computing and virtualisation technology offer many advantages to businesses, but firms till need to ensure they are using the right IT infrastructure to fulfil their needs. ![]() |
