Microsoft launches Sharepoint toolsGlobal software developer Microsoft has announced the launch of a number of new tools at the Microsoft Visual Studio Conference & Expo in Las Vegas.Its Visual Studio 2010 (VS2010) product is designed to help customisation and improve application lifecycle management capabilities for its Sharepoint program, while Silverlight 4 is a new downloadable tool to facilitate better out-of-browser execution and data binding. Bob Muglia, president of the server and tools business at Microsoft, said: "The functionality of Visual Studio 2010, .NET Framework 4 and Silverlight 4 creates a powerful and unique combination, opening up new opportunities for developers." He added that these tools will enable IT professionals to take advantage of new and existing devices, as well as emerging platforms like cloud services. Elsewhere, the firm recently stated that the Microsoft Dynamics xRM Framework will help developers improve data modelling, analysis and security by providing increased integration services and functionality. ![]() |
