Google Docs upgradedInternet search provider Google has announced the upgrade of its Google Docs product.Google's cloud computing offering will make it easier for firms to import documents, as well as reducing the cost and hassle of managing the hardware, software licensing, upgrades and maintenance themselves. Martino Corbelli, marketing director at Star, explained: "Cloud services mean that businesses are able to get the benefits of familiar applications but without the hassle and cost of managing the hardware, software licensing, upgrades and maintenance themselves." Mr Corbelli added that many businesses are presently looking to do more with less in terms of IT infrastructure as a consequence of the recession. Offerings like Googles can aid this process by providing firms with affordable cloud computing infrastructures. Elsewhere, holistic email management company Mimecast recently published research showing that 70 per cent of IT decision makers already using cloud computing are planning to move additional solutions to the cloud - most within the next 12 months. ![]() |
