Browsers 'should be updated regularly'Businesses and individuals alike should remember to regularly patch their browsers to ensure they are safe when surfing the internet, it has been claimed.Simon May, author of the Rough Guide to Windows 7 and blogger at Technologyexplored.com, said that whatever browser a person is using - be it Internet Explorer, Firefox or Chrome for example - they should remember that new exploits are being discovered daily and this means that updating security should always be a top priority. He commented: "Switching browsers is not necessarily more secure, they all have their faults, so it's important to keep anti-malware products up to date." Recently, Kaspersky Lab unveiled a vulnerability it had discovered in versions 6 and 7 of Microsoft's Internet Explorer. Despite the fact that these problems were quickly patched by the company, Kaspersky argued that too many loopholes and problems exist within browser technology and that many users are not installing upgrades fast enough to protect themselves completely from attack. ![]() |
