Malware 'creates system instability'Malware infection creates instability within a network and therefore it is imperative that companies have strong data security systems in place in order to protect against this.Jens Kirschner, lead training manager at 7Safe, said a new form of "destructive" and "blunt" malware has emerged that creates a cascade breakdown in applications resulting in failure of networks. He commented: "It seems unavoidable that any system affected will initially malfunction and quickly cease to function entirely. If the system is of high relevance to the affected organisation, therein lies the problem." According to research from Symantec, spam made up 88 per cent of all emails in 2009 - a level which remained broadly stable over the course of last year. The company reported that 107 billion spam messages are distributed globally each day and 85 per cent have been from botnets. ![]() |
