Virtualisation 'key to data consolidation security'

Implementing virtualisation technology is the key to boosting data security in consolidated IT infrastructure, it has been stated.

According to Search Security, businesses which have cut back on server stock in order to make cost savings could be having trouble with security protocols in their new environment and one way to deal with these complaints is to set up a number of virtual machines within the infrastructure, as these can be accessed and monitored independently.

"The appeal of the cost savings, flexible capacity and failover that virtualisation enables is undeniable," the resource claimed.

"As virtualisation technology continues to develop, you will want to be sure your security solution keeps pace."

Elsewhere, Ramesh Rajandran, product marketing manager at Microsoft Malaysia, recently said that businesses could improve their flexibility and ability to recover quickly from setbacks by investing in virtualisation technology.
