Business communications data storage 'a growing issue'The way in which companies store and monitor data sent via business communications devices is a growing concern, it has been stated.Iain Worthington, chief executive officer at Red Box Recorders, said firms should be in a position to monitor the communications of their workforce, but the vast amount of information that has to be stored and assessed can provide a stumbling block. He commented: "Recording is the easy bit ... it's finding it and putting it into context which is important. Modern technology deals in terabytes, so the storage and finding of specific parts among millions of calls is a challenge." Mr Worthington added that the logging of business communications should be a top priority. According to Mobiles.co.uk, 2010 is likely to be the year of the smartphone, with falling prices making these business communication devices more popular. Indeed, the site stated that the impending release of Apple's new iPhone model will generate major sales and interest in the months ahead. ![]() |
