Cloud computing 'providing business opportunities'The rising popularity of cloud computing is helping to provide greater opportunities for businesses, it has been argued.New Brunswick Business Journal reported that the pervasive nature of the cloud has meant that companies are now able to become global franchises in a much shorter space of time and help to support IT infrastructure as it grows. "The great thing about the cloud is that the cloud is ubiquitous," commented Rajen Sheth, senior product manager for Google Apps. He added that cloud services are everywhere that has an internet connection, enabling much greater flexibility for workers. Elsewhere, Chris Morris, research director for cloud technologies and services at IDC Asia/Pacific, recently said that cloud computing continues to gain popularity with businesses around the world. He quoted a report by the company which showed that cloud solutions like Software-as-a-Service are gaining momentum with firms looking to manage their IT infrastructure more closely. ![]() |
