Google launches cloud calculatorGoogle has launched its new Go Google cloud calculator - an application that allows firms to test drive cloud computing solutions. The program simulates the savings companies could make through the uptake of Google's cloud computing offering and is fully customisable to allow firms to see the impact of cloud services on their bottom line. Writing for the official Google blog, enterprise team member Vivian Leung wrote: "Whether your company is big or small, brand new or been around for a while, this tool will give you a sense of the benefits of going Google in an easy-to-understand way." Meanwhile, the firm has stated it will no longer be using Windows-based IT infrastructure at its offices due to a perceived lack of security offered by the operating system. Instead, the company is to focus on Linux and Macintosh systems, although staff will be able to petition high-level managers to keep their Windows systems if it is important to their work. ![]() |
