Microsoft to issue SharePoint patchesMicrosoft is to issue patches for SharePoint next week as part of a package of ten security bulletins.In all, the updates will close 34 vulnerabilities identified by the firm in its Windows, Office and Internet Explorer packages. Microsoft has rated the security bulletin concerning SharePoint as "important". It will affect the 32 and 64-bit editions of the first two service packs for Microsoft Office SharePoint Server 2007. According to the IT Pro Portal, the update will address a vulnerability that "could allow the elevation of privilege" in the software. All ten security bulletins will be issued on June 8th. Microsoft will host a webcast on the following day at 11:00 Pacific Time to address any customer queries arising from the updates. Security bulletins are issued by the Microsoft Security Response Center, which evaluates customers' reports of possible vulnerabilities in the company's products and, where necessary, distributes patches. ![]() |
