Companies 'do not understand' broadband issuesFirms across the UK continue to misunderstand the issues surrounding broadband speeds and next-generation communications solutions, it has been stated.Michael Phillips, product director at Broadbandchoices.co.uk, said many businesses continue to fail to see how their broadband speeds are affected by the way in which the internet is used by them. He commented: "A broader understanding of what can affect the performance of your broadband connection - traffic during peak hours, for example - is improving, but still not widely understood." According to the US Federal Communications Commission, 80 per cent of broadband users in the US do not know the speed of their broadband connection. It found that 73 per cent of those between the ages of 18 and 29 do not know their home broadband speed, while the number goes up to 88 per cent for people aged 65 and over. ![]() |
