Performance 'key to popularity' for Windows 7One of the main advantages that has seen Windows 7 have such good feedback from users is its level of performance, it has been stated.Barry Collins, features and online editor at PC Pro, said the operating system is much "snappier" than Vista and is very stable and well designed in comparison to its predecessor. He commented: "It's really difficult with Windows 7 to nail down one or two specific features that make it great - it's a combination of all manner of features." Indeed, Mr Collins added that the operating system is less prone to crashing than Vista was in its early days and this has helped users to gain confidence that this product can help them improve productivity in IT infrastructure. Microsoft announced at its TechEd 2010 North America conference on June 7th that its Service Pack 1 for Windows 7 will be released by the end of July this year and will incorporate a collection of updates, fixes and enhancements to the operating system. ![]() |
