New iPhone 'could help business communications'The launch of the new iPhone 4 could help to improve business communications for firms and make video calling more popular, it has been claimed.Conrad Longmore, editor at Mobile Gazette, said the introduction of a new high-definition resolution display will help make this form of communication more of a reality, with video conferencing set to see a large increase in uptake in the years ahead. He commented: "Nobody uses video calling and indeed it's a feature missing from the current crop of Android phones as well as the iPhone. However, Apple have a way of taking these technologies and turning them into something truly impressive." According to networking provider Cisco, video will exceed 91 per cent of global consumer internet protocol traffic by 2014, dominating the projected four-fold internet traffic growth for that period. The firm has predicted that global mobile data traffic will increase 39 times from 2009 to 2014, when annual global mobile data traffic will reach 3.5 exabytes (one billion gigabytes) per month. ![]() |
