Broadband understanding 'a mystery for some'Companies should ensure they completely understand the small print of their broadband agreements, as unlimited contracts often have clauses that mean this is not the case, one sector professional claimed.Edd Dawson, editor of broadband.co.uk, said it is important that people are aware of the agreement they have with their broadband provider, as failing to do so could lead to them paying over the odds for their services. He commented: "Broadband providers could improve their service [by] being more open with people in terms of when they will get limits." Mr Dawson added that it would be better if providers gave consumers the option to up their limits if they felt they were happy to pay a little more to get a better service. According to research by uSwitch.com, eight million broadband customers have no idea of their usage allowance - placing them at risk of having their service limited, suspended or even terminated by their provider. ![]() |
