Working from home Zoom VS Teams

Working from home? Here is some advice to support you and your business.

When working from home you still need to keep the communication flowing seamlessly for your business.

Most people have now heard of Microsoft Teams and Zoom, but which is best?

Well, both platforms offer a great service, including video conferences, instant messaging, file sharing, calls and screen share. But there are a few differences.

👨‍💻 Zoom is said to be more user friendly with a simpler interface.

👩‍💻 Teams is usually already running in the background if you are running MS365, allowing for instant messaging without the need to schedule a conference.

👨‍💻 Zoom has the ability to be added to other apps if required.

👩‍💻 Teams has no time limit for conference calls, whereas Zoom will time out after 40 mins, if you are using the free version.

👨‍💻 ZOOM is more flexible and can be used with a range of hardware and software.

👩‍💻 Teams has the slight edge on security, already connected to users OneDrive and SharePoint.

To sum up, both are great and can offer any business a fantastic communication tool. You may even want to use both.

For us, we would recommend considering your business priorities. If you are a small business with a close team MS Teams is the way forward for you. For larger businesses, or those looking to communicate with external companies on a regular basis, Zoom is best suited for you.
